  • Assistant District Attorney Roy Stout in Starz’s Magic City.

  • Detective Jimmy Dufrene in HBO’s True Detective, acting alongside Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson.

  • Boyd ‘Hot Rod’ McNeil in The CW’s Walker.

  • Maxwell in Showtime’s Your Honor.

  • Judge Emmett Walker in Disney’s Secrets of Sulphur Springs. Garrett’s portrayal of Judge Walker, introduced in Season 2, evolved into a central role as the main antagonist of Season 3. His character, whose actions in the 1930s set off a series of events intertwined with the show’s mysteries, became a fan favorite because of his layered performance.

 

In 2020, Garrett won the Louisiana Film Prize Best Actor award for his role in the short film Three Mile Hell.

Beyond acting, Garrett directs, produces, and casts for independent projects.

 

He also owns Northwood Acting Studio in Shreveport, where he’s a sought-after coach, sharing candid industry insights in his popular classes.

 

With his extensive experience, Garrett Kruithof continues to influence both on and off screen.

Garrett Kruithof, a Shreveport, Louisiana native, left the hotel business for an entertainment career.

His film debut was as Stanley Kuklinski in The Iceman, father to the infamous serial killer Richard Kuklinski (Michael Shannon). He also portrayed real-life gangster Henry Methvin in the acclaimed Bonnie and Clyde mini-series, which was a highly viewed cable event.
